Read the verse and answer the following questions:
1. Summarize in a few sentences what the passage is about:
2. Is there an example for me to follow?
3. Is there an error I need to avoid?
4. Is there a command for me to obey?
5. Is there a sin I need to forsake?
6. What application of this passage can I make today?
My answers and opinion:
This is the Fall of Man [and woman]
1. The "Serpent" tempts the woman with fruit to be like God, and twists God's word, putting doubt in her, and showing how desirable it would be to gain wisdom; she gives some to her husband; and they realize they are naked and hide from God; then the man says "she told me too" and she says "the serpent told me too!" It's funny how it says "she gave some to her husband who was with her" Did he not try to stop her or say anything like, uh, God said no!?
2. Not a good example, unless it's God for not striking down his first man and woman for disobeying!!
3. Don't play the blame game and don't hide from God.
4. When God says something straight forward like "don't do such and such" listen and obey!!
5. Blaming others when I need to take responsibility.
6. Try to not sin, and when I do (it will happen, I'm not perfect!) don't take anyone else down the bad road!
Well that's all for today, tomorrow will be verses 14-16. Quick but deep I think.
