Genesis 4:8-27 "My Brother's Keeper

Okay, we are finishing this chapter!! And there are just a few verses about who was born to who (usually parts like this slow me down, but thus we will endure it; it's small after all!). And sorry it's been a few days, Tuesday I did something else but Wed/Thur I was a slacker!!!

Read the verse and answer the following questions: (don't forget that Bible, a pen and highlighter!! You may even start with a notebook and have these questions at the front as a reference, then throughout the book, just write your answers!! Just an idea!? :-) )

1. Summarize in a few sentences what the passage is about:

2. Is there an example for me to follow?

3. Is there an error I need to avoid?

4. Is there a command for me to obey?

5. Is there a sin I need to forsake?

6. What application of this passage can I make today?

My answers and opinion:

1. Cain kills his brother Abel and when God approaches him, says "Am I my brother's keeper", God turns the crops against him so they will no longer yield, thus making Cain a wanderer and puts a mark on him. Cain has children. Adam has another son, Seth. People start proclaiming the name of the Lord.

2. Uh, well, if my son kills my other son, have more?? Not really good examples set here!

3. Refrain from anger, as it can develop hate, which can turn into disregard and death of another person.

4. no.

5. no.

6. Raising my children and allowing hate to grow and breed. If possible, keep attuned to their feelings so I know when one feels left out and starts hating the other.
